Coding for pathogen genomics and other creative projects.
Explore my world of ongoing projects: a blend of 5+ years
of bioinformatics experience in pathogen genomics for public health, and other creative pursuits.
I was a bit busy during That Pandemic™! Joining the COVID-19 Genomics UK Consortium (COG-UK) in spring 2020, I contributed bioinformatics analysis data for SARS-CoV-2 samples in Wales. Plus, in 2022, Dr. Lara Marks interviewed me on my pandemic experiences for her project documenting the history of COG-UK.
I love standardisation! So, I've been developing best practices for bioinformatics workflows at PHA4GE (Public Health Alliance for Genomic Epidemiology), an international pathogen genomics consortium. Publication coming soon.
This website! A bit meta, I know, but most of my bioinformatics projects at work are closed source. To kickstart overcoming this, I've worked on this website to demonstrate my ability to use HTML/CSS/JS. And, sticking to my principles in documentation control: writing the process up!
